Do FoodSaver® Reusable Bags work with sous vide cooking?

FoodSaver® Reusable Bags are simmer safe for sous vide cooking. Sous vide cooking is a food preparation technique in which foods are cooked in hot liquids kept just below the boiling point of water (which is 100 °C or 212 °F).

How long can I store FoodSaver® Reusable Bags in the freezer and keep food fresh?

For best results, we recommend storing for up to 3 months.

No, FoodSaver® Reusable bags are hand wash only

How should I clean my FoodSaver® Reusable Bags?

Hand wash the FoodSaver® Reusable Zipper bags promptly after each use. FoodSaver® recommends cleaning thoroughly with a sponge or cloth and mild detergent, rinse and allow to dry completely before storage. If the bags are used to store raw meats, ensure that it is washed thoroughly and examined to ensure all residue is removed prior to re-use.

Are FoodSaver® Reusable Bags recyclable?

No, FoodSaver® Reusable Bags are not recyclable. Please follow the disposal guidelines and requirements of your local municipality.

Which FoodSaver® appliance vacuum sealers are compatible with FoodSaver® Reusable Bags?

Any FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer® with a built in Handheld sealer or Handheld accessory that plugs into the appliance. Also compatible with any FoodSaver® Handheld battery powered sealer. To ensure a proper seal, we recommend pressing the center of the valve after vacuuming is complete.

What type of foods can I store in FoodSaver® Reusable Bags?

The same foods you use other FoodSaver bags/rolls for can be stored.

I am having trouble zipping the zipper shut, what should I do?

After using hands to seal zipper shut as one normally would, it is recommended to use the included black clip by placing it over the zipper, applying pressure and gliding it along from one end to the other to ensure a tight zip and the best food preservation.

I lost the included plastic clip, does a replacement part exist?

If lost or misplaced, it is not critical to use the clip. A household paperclip or the side of a sharpie can be used as an alternative.

What is this plastic black clip that is included?

This clip is included as an additional way to ensure the zipper at the top of the reusable bag is fully closed for maximum food preservation. Simply put the clip over the zipper, apply pressure, and glide from one end to the other. This will ensure a fully closed bag.
