FoodSaver® Preserve & Marinate Containers FAQs

The Vacuum/Store setting is for when you would like to preserve foods in the freezer, fridge, or pantry. To use, simply turn the green valve so it points to Vacuum/Store, connect your handheld sealer or handheld accessory by placing on top of the green valve, and press the vacuum or accessory button according to the appliance instruction. To open and release vacuum, turn the valve to the Marinate/Open setting and use the easy open tabs to open and enjoy!

Note: For best results, we recommend leaving the clear reservoir on the handheld sealer or handheld accessory when vacuuming containers.

The Marinate/Open setting is for when you would like to quickly marinate meat, fish or veggies. To use, simply turn the green valve so it points to Marinate/Open, remove clear liquid reservoir from the built-in handheld sealer and connect to the center of the green valve, press the Marinate button on appliance to start marinating cycle to infuse flavor in 12 minutes.

Note: This setting is to be used with appliances with Marinate mode.

Marinate Mode is a special setting on select FoodSaver Appliances. The setting runs a 12 minute cycle of pulling a vacuum and releasing to help infuse flavor.
Yes. If your appliance does not have Marinate Mode, you can marinate meat, fish, and veggies by following the steps in ‘How to seal my Preserve & Marinate Containers’ section above using the Vacuum/Store position. Wait for 12 minutes for food to marinate, then release vacuum.
Yes, both the base and lid are dishwasher safe.
The clear base of the container is microwave safe for reheating purposes only. The lid is not microwave safe so remove prior to reheating.
Yes, the containers are BPA-free.
To clean your containers, simply hand wash with warm soapy water or wash in the dishwasher.
The Preserve & Marinate Containers are compatible with countertop appliances with handheld sealer accessories and the Cordless, Handheld Vacuum Sealer.

If your container is not holding a vacuum, ensure that the green valve is turned to the Vacuum/Store setting. Make sure that you hold the handheld sealer or handheld accessory firmly on the valve when vacuuming.

Next, check that the green gasket is clean and properly fitted on to lid. Ensure that the lid is pressed firmly on the base.
